to me this is almost as bad as flaming, except it isn't about video games it is about a marketing style they have no concept or inclination to understand.

got milk ads
geico ads
the guy whose lower body dances down the street while he walks normally ad.
Target

Many many ads never show anything of their product or features, but only a brandname. They are short and quick, and pique curiosity. These Sony ads are also teasers for future upcoming ads. They are cost effective and make use of the "mere exposure" effect, using tested accurate exposure level and frequency.

I'm sorry but this is pissing me off. This is like if I criticized a program for its coding, or said your data collection techniques for sales charts were off base.

nobody here is in the target audience, so in that right i can give leeway as to how you think they are bad, but honestly it is in poor taste to talk about stuff you don't know.

Sorry but I think you're in the minority about feeling that the PS3 ads are effective- Even amongst PS3 owners.

Like I said before I've been studying psychological kinda stuff like this for about 6 years now.

Most of the arguments are
"They barely even showed anything"
"I didn't even know what it was about"
"Stupid"
"not enough commercials"

What you have to understand first of all is that you are not in the target audience, if you just watched it on this thread. You are the target audience if you are at home or at a friend's house and are watching a show and this comes on. You are taking a critical approach to viewing this and in that instance you have no right describing how you feel EDIT(in regards to the commercials effectiveness) because you are not on the receiving end of the commercial, you are on the sidelines.
