I'll say it straight out, I like Microsoft the least and hope they end up leaving the industry. That company is not who I want at the helm of my favorite pass time.
I just don't see them as a company with a soul that really cares about gamers or games. They're like the Borg in Startrek, assimilate everyone elses ideas and then take them out.
They are more concerned with taking out the competition and making a monopoly than anything else. Look at the 360 red ring thing for example. They knew they system was a peice of crap, but they released it early just to get a head start on Sony. So basically, they knowingly let gamers have this peice of crap (hardware wise) just to be first out of the gate. It really shows what they are all about.
I don't see how they got away with it without being forced to have a full recall. If it were any other product it would have had a full recall and the fact that it didn't is BS. It's just ludicrus. Plus they are still producing the same defective product and people are buying it up like everything is OK (anyone who says it's no longer a problem is smoking something).
For what it's worth, they seem to be keeping Sony on their toes and have done some good things in the online space, both of which are good things for the industry. But other than that, I hope they fail at buying their way into this industry and go back to making buggy operating systems.
