It is easy ... the people on Internet forums are not the typical users of the system. They tend to be males, ages 18-34 (usually in the younger part of that range) and seem to like things that blow up and don't make you think.
The magazine and internet sites cater to this audience. So after the initial "Wow this is cool" phase of the Wii, they turned on it as they went back to their explosions and car chases (I know this is oversimplified).
The Blue Ocean strategy means it is a system for everyone. As such, if all you want are a constant dose of one particularly type of game (FPS), then the Wii does not work for you very well for very long. But if you like a variety of game styles/types, the Wii can keep you busy.

Remember, the attach rate of consoles is under 10. Those who buy 20 and 30 and 50 games are not like most owners of the console.
