@ Gnizmo

The only one wasting your time is you. No one is forcing you to read or post anything.

Just because you disagree with my point of view does not mean you are correct. And just because I have a (totally valid and data-supported) criticism of the Wii's ability to spin off quality, critically and commercially successful 3rd party hits does not mean I hate your precious system. I have one, and I support it, and I personally have raised both attach rates for it.

Quit stalking my posts, if you please. Agree to disagree and move on.

I WANT the Wii to spin off some quality games that really do change gaming for the better. Wii Play and Carnival Games ain't it. The Wii has the opportunity to either expand gaming in creative, imaginative ways that are good for gaming; I'm hoping it's a platform that does it. But until its users demand more than crappy ports and mini-game collections(however fun), it 's not going to happen.

Your arguments only seems reasonable to you, because you put countless restrictions to every point you make.

1. Third party games don't sell well on the Wii because they don't break the 1m mark.
2. Resident Evil games are excluded despite selling more than 1m, because it doesn't support the argument that only minigame collections and Guitar Hero can break the 1m mark.
3. The Wii isn't good for gaming, because there aren't any quality games when the entire first party lineup is excluded and when the quality third party games like Resident Evil 4 and others are excluded as well.

Basically, if you exclude all good things the Wii has, you are left with everything that is bad. That's your real argument.

But the response to these posts is always the same.  RE4 is a port (albeit an improved one).  GH3 is a port.  Game Party is a top seller with 1.44 million sold worldwide with a 25 metacritic rating. Boom Blox is at 560k with an 85 metacritic rating.  Ratings aren't everything, but a 25?  Really?

It's not about one million sales.  That's an arbitrary number that's just a nice easy one.  But look at the top 3rd party games critically - the Zack& Wiki (450k)  and Boom Blox (560k) and No More Heroes (360k).  We all know the Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evils and the like on other systems that commercially underperformed compared to their quality and critical love, because its fairly rare for it to happen.  Except for on Wii.

And Wii Play sells 15 million at a 58 metacritic and that's supposed to be a time to celebrate for gaming?

Every system has junk on it.  And some of that junk sells.  But where is Wii's success stories in moving GOOD, new original product for 3rd parties.  It's not like these are little companies behind these games.  Boom Blox is EA-published.  Zack is Capcom.

You guys act like I am the first one to raise this concern for Wii.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
