15% is not being added, 15% is how X360 numbers for NA on the front page as of mid Jan compare to NPD numbers for USA at the end of 2006.
~30% is how Wii and PS3 numbers compare - the difference mainly being because the Jan sales so far compared to LTD sales for each console form a bigger proportion for Wii and PS3 since their LTDs are smaller. 150k / 1 million is a bigger percentage than 150k / 4 million for example (4 times in fact).
So what we are really doing is all confusing ourselves over different data covering different markets over different time frames.
As for PS3 selling the Dec 31st shipment - I don't think it is unreasonable that with around 750k sold at the end of Dec in NA and with over 1 million shipped by then that PS3 has probably sold over 100k in Jan so far, and Wii as many as have been shipped (could be 100k - 200k maybe?) and that X360 has sold a typical Jan-following-a-December-of-1m-amount, or around 250-300 for whole of Jan or 150k so far.
These are all pretty reasonable figures to me, the whole percentage argument has surely been put to rest now?
You guys might want to rejig your PS3 estimates for Japan (30%?? maybe more like 8%), according to the new numbers, they sold less this week then last week.
Also off topic - Woot for Gears of Wars making the top 10 in Japan, not sure if the other games had a slow week in sales or something but I thought that was pretty cool!
