I think it's a good score. I think the problem is that for many people, 5 is a horrible rating instead of simply meaning mediocre or average. I think it has become in a lot of people's minds that 7 is average. I guess it's because games cost $50 or $60, people want a game to obviously as good as possible and that's understandable. The problem then becomes that good scores such as 7.0, 7.5 and even 8.0 are disappointing. Everyone wants at least an 8.5, if not a 9.0.
Of course we want our games to excellent and nearly perfect but that's not going to happen.
I'll come up with something better eventually...
