Español e Ingles!

I'm confused. Wouldn't that be "Español y Ingles"? In Portuguese "and" is "e", but I thought it was "y" in Spanish.

Yes, in Spanish "and" is translated as "Y", but when the following word starts with "i"(the same sound) we say "e" instead of "y". i.e: Español y Francés, Español e italiano.

BTW i speak Spanish and English, and i'm starting to learn Chinesse

Thanks! So your "e" sounds like the beginning of the English word "entrance"? We always use "e" but it sounds like your "y" (or the beginning of the word Italy).

Yes, the "e" in spanish sounds like entrance.

I'm intrigued about your "e", I always thought the e in portuguese sounded the same as ours

To make it sound like that, we need to put an accent on it ("é" which is a verb form and means "he/she/it is").
