I think that pretty much spells it out. Its not going to happen overnight, but, yes, the PS3 will eventually overtake the X360, very likely well before this generation ends.
The "X720" will be nothing more than a Wii HD clone, mark my words. And I'm going to stand up and say that Nintendo's inevitable release of a 100% BC "Wii HD" (still less powerful than the X360 and PS3, but meaty enough to support 720p gaming) before this generation ends does *not* constitute the start of a new gen. |
1. The valhalla chip in 09 will almost certainly cause another pricecut, although probaly small, maybe to 170 bucks for a arcade? MS probaly will be able to offset another price cut with the huge amount of software they sell and the fact that xbl is RAKING in cash.
2. The 720 will be far from that, with the rumors of this foward compatability thing its looking VERY promising already.

no, m$ already said they are not doing a price cut ww in a long time, sony would have to wiping the floor to do it.
sony will managed to do it, it needs to stay strong for at least one year, and i see the ps3 selling in others and japan a for a long while.
