So would you prefer a comparison between two new IP’s such as LBP and Gears1?

To include all sales up to week 3 is 673K for little LBP against 1.5Million for Gears1!

http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=All&game1=Gears+of+War+-+X360®2=All&game2=LittleBigPlanet+-+PS3®3=All&game3=&weeks=4

2-3 week comparison is fair I think as it takes into account LBP week 0! sales and that Gears1 also had a few days between its release in US and EU about 3 weeks before release in Australia and no sales from Japan!

Then if you consider that the user base when Gears1 released was around 5 million XBox360’s compared to around 16.5 million PS3’s when LBP released, by your logic is LBP a complete disaster!?  Even for a new IP!

LBP was not a disaster it was simply hyped far too much and had very little chance of fulfilling the ridiculous sales expectations posted by fanboys in the build up to its release.

Week 1 34,231 606,759 269,941 910,931

VS

Week 1 49,839 144,434 274,410 468,683
Week 2 n/a 204,185 n/a 204,185

Anyways... We also know shooters sell more and Gears1 was HUGE ad campaign (Yes bigger than LBP) AND on top of that Gears was the first must have game on the 360. Gears had no competition

Also Notice how LBP sales pass Gears in sales in 2 regions with the third one being AMERICA who generally purchase shooters more and favor the 360.

(and for the LBP hype bull shit read the sig)
