Wow, without a doubt, one of the most superficially concieved and decietfully bias posts i've ever been trolled into. There's more than enough holes, contradictions, short-sightedly preferential 'opinions' and good ole' fashioned nonsense in that post to keep any and all who are willing to point them out furiously busy at the keyboard.
As for myself, I don't have the time or inclination to argue with the blind. I'd just like to point out two things; if you 'honestly' can't find anything to appreciate in this generation, above and beyond what you've already experienced through it's predecessors, than you are truly NOT A GAMER and you belong right there at your computer, pounding out silly paragraphs of woeful drivel, rife with absurdity and bad grammar.
Secondly, in spite of what you may feel or think, home consoles started long before Nintendo or Sega. You're obviously aware of that, but to place the home video game market's beginning at the point where YOU decided to take an interest is incredibly arrogant and dismissive to the talented folks that went before them.
Now, you started this with a plea to those who would read your post to consider it in context.. to empathize with you; a considerably non-confrontational and defenseless position. Than I watched you reply derisively to those that disagreed with you, which pretty much summed up the intent of your post. Your extended little diatribe about the disappointments of this generation, is nothing more than a meritless attempt to argue. Congrats. You're wrong.
