1. Perhaps but what it has to due with competition? Game always have lots of competition on holidays and most of them sell really good. And not only the good ones.

2. How do you know? I'm not saying it's opposite I have no data for it either.

3. Lots of sports games are released each year and somehow people buy new versions each year. And people won't know if online is better or not before they try it (read next point).

4. It's not the case if this developer is good or not. Most people don't know who developed Cod4 and who developed CoD: WaW. I agree with you that this game probably won't be as good as CoD4 but word of mouth can't really hurt first week sales. Also I just visited gamerankings and couldn't see any CoD:WaW rewievs. So reviewers won't hurt first week sales either just becouse there aren't any yet. Maybe that's how they planned it: maybe they know that game isn't so good so don't they want to destroy hype with bad, pre-release reviews.
