Some games will have advanced graphics, as a certain level of detail is necessary for certain kinds of art direction.
And some hardcore games on the Wii have sold well, like Twilight Princess and Red Steel, even though the latter was unpolished. They sold because there is a hardcore audience for the system, who will want games with a certain level of detail, to make those games believable.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
