According to this site, wii has sold roughly 177 million software. By a quick look, about 114 million of them are nintendo games.
That makes it about 63 million third party sales for wii. So third party attach ratio for wii is about 1,8.
For 360 the same method brings up a number of 125 million third party sales for 360. 3rd party attach ratio is about 5,6. I have to agree on one point, developers will look at the raw numbers. They also take a look at what kind of software sells on any specific platform.
Oh and for ps3, there are about 61 million third party sales. 3,7 attach ratio. |
The software totals on this website are not complete... All 1st party games will be counted well because they are important, but many smaller 3rd party games will not be.
Nintendos own fiscals give a figure of 229.85 million (shipped) by the end of September, which given the speed of the software sales is a minimum for actual sales by now.
