@ yushire - Whoa. You're pretty pissed huh?
Okay I'll consede that most reviewers are hardcore fanboys. As such they can't help but consciously or subconciously compare it to the games they want to play the want they want to play it.

I think IGNs reviews of Wii Play and there comparison's of the Shawn White games are excellent examples of that. Matt Cassamansina (or whatever the spelling is) clearly just doesn't 'get' Wii Play. There's nothing wrong with Wii Play there's something totally wrong with his approach to the game. That said, a lot of gamers will come at it with this same approach or mindset and agree with him.
As for the Shawn White comparison that was pure stupidity. They are totally different games aimed at different demographics. The HD version is a sim aimed at the core crowd that'll spend hours at a time playing. The Wii is an arcade aim at everyone else who plays for minutes at a time and wants something fun and engaging in a physical way. Now these reviewers - who all sit playing games all day for hours both at work and home - say the HD version is better. Well, yeah, for them but not for the target audience.

Worse is the simple truth that only about 5% of video game reviewers have real journalist credentials. They are not real journalistic critics they are by and large fanboy critics who are paid to do it. If the industry wants to become mainsteam and be taken seriously by the masses this is one of the things that has to change.
