Nice post!

Don´t take these numbers for granted, though. It is possible they talk about shipment numbers. The average person doesn´t know the difference between shipped and sold to consumers.

They are not shipment numbers, the article clearly states it:

"according to official sell-through figures from Chart-Track."

Edit: about the part where Wii is on track to pass XBox 360 before the end of october makes me wonder if the 1.24M that VGchartz has it on might be a bit high. The article talks about Wii passing the 1M mark at 3 to 4 weeks, so somewhere at the beginning of september. Then there are only 6-7 weeks left for Wii to pass up on XBox 360 before the end of october. Now if Wii decreases its deficit by 20k units a week (which is already more than VGchartz gives it at the moment) it can only catch up with 120-140k units in that time period. So for XBox 360 to be passable by Wii within the timeframe mentioned in the article XBox 360 can't be ahead of Wii by the beginning of september with more than around 150k units. That would put XBox 360 on around 1.15M units sold at the beginning of september and probably around 1.1M units sold up to the last update on the site (5 august)
