Maybe I'll write up an article about this in the next few days for the front page to clear up some misconceptions. It's a pretty big deal for the holiday season, both for Nintendo and Sony.

I've included taxes before and it still works out we pay more. Now fair enough recently the £ has lost to the dollar so maybe it is more fair then it used to be but at one point during the £1-$1.9 I don't think it was.
£300 (without VAT it's £247) was about $575 at the time, that's including VAT. $400 to get to that much would have to be about 40% VAT to make up for that and i know different USA states have different VAT ranges but are any at 40%?
You are right on Euro to Yen though, Euro has been strong for a while. I'll give you that. In the end to many I'm sure it feels like we are being made to pay for the weak US dollar. Sony can outweigh their losses there with less loss in Europe.
Hmm, pie.
