@The Fury: You're ignoring taxes (VAT specifically; see my post above) and Yen exchange rates. Sony doesn't care about Euro->dollars, they care about Euro->Yen.
Maybe I'll write up an article about this in the next few days for the front page to clear up some misconceptions. It's a pretty big deal for the holiday season, both for Nintendo and Sony.
