I don't understand what how PS3 owners could possibly think 40K~ sales at this point are acceptable. PS3 has a HUGE Mountain to climb and the 360 gained another 10K of ground on it. Sure sales didn't triple, but thats because they weren't nearly as much in the crapper 18K is significantly worse then 35K.
Anyways, I think much of the PS3 sales at this point (roughly 2/3's) are still going to be for the 60 Gig Packages since with the emotion engine its a far better deal. If Sony drops the 80 Gig to $499 later this Holiday it'll be a much better deal, but I think $599 locks out most of the mass market again.
Parents are going to buying up 360s & Wiis en masse if thats the case.
