It's okay SHMUP, I just had a realization of my own that blew my mind (and my heart...)
Here is Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door:
She's my favorite Paper Mario partner of all time, due to her shy nature and overall cuteness factor.
Then one day while visiting Super Mario Wiki for some odd reason or another, I figured out that she was actually a he. In the original Japanese version, Vivian was actually a boy and part of the Three Shadow Group (It's the Shadow Sirens in the US version). I kinda did a double take seeing that. 
But I guess that she's still a she in the US/PAL versions, so all is not lost.
