Resistance 2 will get higher metacritic score than Gears of war 2!

I've said "Ratings don't mean anything" a million times about all games. Ownage has nothing to do with meaning. It's proving someone wrong in their own wierd trollish mentallity.

I've never said I love the PS3, but I don't celebrate when its software "fails." I'm flaming IGN here, not R2, and they deserve it, imo. They could have given us an opinion either way, but instead they didn't. They caved in and appeased fanboys. Period.

Now, I did assert the IGN gave R2 a higher score to appease said fanboys. I only say this because:

1. Metacritic will probably adamantly disagree, and IGN rarely overscores, but this is a huge game, and IGN didn't want to appear foolish by betting on the wrong horse.

2. IGN itself in the bullet list ratings, ie: Presentation, Graphics, ect, gave R2 lower scores in 2 of those ratings, and tied it in the rest, meaning that if the games were tied in order to appease fanboys, they were tied in a way that either bumped R2 or lowered G2.

Again, reviews dont' matter. Especially IGN, who are vastly over-rated because they are popular. That said, imo, they probably punked out to appease fanboys. 9.5/9.5 is quite a conincidence, and I dont' care how many of said fans take offense to me pointing it out.

I'm damn bitter over the way most of these same people acted during Fable 2's review segments(also a great game, but flamed to hell initially when it didn't make 90 percent on metacritic, with arguments like "It just isn't that good."), and there hasn't been one yet who's gotten away unowned. I'm not ignorant or foolish enough to make an argument that a games ratings mean a damn thing. I will, however, point out obvious inconsistances, and when people state things absolutely, it always comes back to bite them in the ass. I just make sure that happens.

Honestly, most sites have a bias towards or against certain games and certain companies or lack backbone in certain situations. It's not really that new of an issue. I hope it was based on their own rationality but I really believe, most people aren't going to care about reviews for this game anyways. As long as it doesn't get a 30 then it probably won't sway anyone against it. Games like Resistance 2, Gears 2, and Fable 2, don't really need amazing scores to get popularity as they are already established games and known for being pretty solid titles.

I do agree that people were complete idiots about Fable 2. Honestly, whenever there was the poll about the biggest game of the season, it was down to LittleBigPlanet and Gears of War 2, which I think was appropriate because they are on par when it comes to critical acclaim. Just like Resistance and Fable 2 are on par when it comes to critical praise. I think that all 4 games are great games in all honesty. And I really feel that all of the games are worthy of the coveted "AAA" title.

I guess I kind of held your opinion in a higher regard because when I started on this site, you seemed so unbias towards one console or another and now when I get on here, I see all these angsty comments towards Sony products or Sony fans. On the other side though, I can completely understand why you feel some sense of justice about telling someone that their irrational prediction is wrong.

 

One thing I can't do is change the way I post, so I'll look unbiased and omnipitant. If I did that, I'd have no integity to respect. Know this, however, my anger doesn't stem from the PS3 itself, and if you'll read closely, I've never actually flamed the PS3 or its games, in an unfair manner(in the last several months at least, after I had my moment of clarity). My sheer hate involves the generalized perception of many Sony fans on this forum, who think that the PS3 is obviously the best gaming console, and its exclusives are obviously the best games and the rest of the world has simply not yet to acknowledged that fact.
