Any time I read about The Conduit and HVS, my belief that it's incredibly important that this game sells well solidifies. Not just sell well, but explode out of the launch gates and has relatively good legs.
Let's be honest - all 3rd party developers are watching this game. They are all watching to see if it will actually sell well. This game will give them the final proof that the Wii can move "Core" titles if the effort and polish is put into a game. This game can reverse the current developer mindset that the Wii is just "A shovelware platform" where they can make a quick buck.
The ball is in Sega's court now. We on the internet know of this game, but the masses do not. If Sega can break out a kick ass advertising campaign, market the game well and ensure its success, we can be assured that every single 3rd party dev out there will really start hammering the Wii with the truly great software we've been waiting for.
If this game doesn't sell at least 600k in the first week (and move onto becoming a million+ seller in the future), I will be severely disappointed.
By life end:
- Wii- 100 million+
- Xbox360- 35~40 million
- PS3- 30 million
- PSP- 30~32 million ------------- FAILURE
- NDS- 85~90 million (Skeptical) - FAILURE
- NDS- 100 million+ (Optimistic) -- Success!
