i was under the impression that the videogame crash was largely due to atari pretty much being the head of the gaming industry by a long shot.. when they were out of the picture, there was pretty much nothing left to hold the threads together... nowadays, i think microsoft sony or nintendo could fall to nothing, and the gaming industry will continue on, not as it was, but not that drastically effected as the first crash
