@Xen Um the Wii has emulators too. Actually that is what the virtual console is, emulators. There are even ways you could get games that aren't available on the virtual console to work through it.

I know. The Wii port of Snes9x, through the homebrew channel, for example? I use Snes9x on my GC :)

Actually you could just inject rom files into a .wad(VC/Wiiware file). This is done by taking out the rom that was originally in the .wad and putting a different one of the same console in using a hex editor and some other things. Its very confusing at first, but after you figure  it out it works much better than Snes9x being that it uses the emulators made by Nintendo themselves. Also it gets listed as one of your channels like any VC game. The only problem with that is the channel heading is the same as the original  game that you took out. Most of my games though I try to find the original copy for since I love collecting them as well as playing them, but if they are extremely rare and aren't available through VC or Online(at a reasonable price $100>) then I will just inject them and play them on my Wii. Or in some cases where my games battery doesn't work and I can't save(Chrono Trigger is one of them) I would do this.
