I took the title from the Kotaku.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/miyamoto-says/kiss-your-old-hard-nintendo-games-goodbye-289116.php

Most notably is a quote from Shigeru Miyamoto:

"While there are indeed games designed for core and casual markets, core users are also enjoying casual gaming. It is very hard to tune the difficulty just for the core market. Even for us, we would still have difficulty finding the right balance. But I think the future is games that are not difficult and yet very fun to play."

I think a lot of what Reggie said at the E3 press conference about not alienating the core gamer was just lip service. They know why the Wii is succeeding, and the Core gamers from the GC generation certainly did not do much for them. I am sure this thread will become a flame war, but this quote from Miyamoto is pretty telling about Nintendo's strategy.

When I hear that I think of games like Mario 64 andMario Kart. I really don't think this is anything to get too worried about.

 My thoughts exactly stof.

Also realise that this is just Nintendos take on things, 3rd party can still make games like manhunt if they want.
