Lol 4 or 5 eggs? No my friend you have no idea. It took me a week of constant breeding and chain breeding to make my nearly perfect IV (Individual Values) online competitive Weavile with the desired Jolly nature. It took me another day to do all the EV (Effort Value) training necessary to have his stats perfectly balanced to where I wanted them. However, I still consider Pokemon a "both" game as far as demographics, despite being a competitive tourney gamer. You can play and beat Pokemon at age 8 with relative ease without knowing any of that stuff. However, a 20 some year old man (me) can spend months just creating one team for competitive online tourney battles. If you ever want to know how deep the Pokemon hole goes, just ask. It's an endless pit of strategy that most casual onlookers don't know exists.
So yeah, it's not a single demographic game. However, most games that can be played and enjoyed by casual gamers are not single demographic games are they? I have never met a person who played Wii sports and didn't enjoy themselves, regardless of what kinds of games they play. That's not to say I don't think there are people out there who dislike Wii Sports, but it appeals to a variety of different gamers. I think games are meant to be enjoyed. There are many different types of games that can be fun, but that doesn't really make one path more valid than another. I love deep games like Bioshock, but that doesn't mean I won't turn right around and have just as much fun shooting bunnies with a plunger gun in Rayman Raving Rabbids.
I think it's great that there is so much diversity in the current game generation, and the last thing I want is for one type of gaming or another to die out. It seems like there is some holy crusade against the Wii and it's "casual" games, but I think this is incredibly selfish. Why can't people just accept that there is more than one way to enjoy the video game market, and even if it doesn't appeal to you there are a lot of people out there who are thankful that the Wii came along with such a wide variety of games on one console.
