I agree, PM is far superior to SPM. PM is one of my favorite Mario games, while SPM is probably my least favorite non-sports/party Mario game. I still enjoyed it a lot, but it had it's shortcomings.
I really hope the next Paper game ditches the half-assed "platforming" and gets back to action-enhanced rpg gameplay.
