I know I am in the minority, but I don't like open world games. A lot of reviewers are critical of linear games with scripted events, but I generally look for games like this. COD4's single player was intense and extremely enjoyable. I don't think I would have the same reaction if it was an open world game.
I think the biggest disappointment with Far Cry 2 is the comments about the graphics. We were served substantial eye candy with the videos shown prior to the game's release. According to the forums this game does not meet those expectations. I think we will have a couple of other game releases in the next month that fail to meet the graphical hype as well. I am not saying they won't look good, but they will not meet the expectations.
