I don't mind MP having success, but yesterday I played MP8 with a friend, and I didn't enjoy it at all. I've played only one MP game before (on the GameCube, maybe #4 or #5), and didn't like it neither. Everything goes sooo sloooow, you spend most of the time watching animations or reading instructions or just generally waiting.
Made me think that Mario Party series really is for kid
s (and I say that as a huge fan of real Mario games).

Because kids love reading instructions, right? It sounds to me like you just don't like the idea behind the series. I've been to parties where two games get played. Halo and MP 2 for the N64. Both of which are fun games which everybody enjoys.

No, but because kids usually are a bit less smart than grown-ups.

I think I do get the idea, I just didn't enjoy it. I felt very passive playing this. On the other hand, we were just 2 people (-> 2 CPU opponents) and no booze, that was a mistake probably. Anyway, I had much more fun with Excite Truck, which turned out to be alot better than I expected.

Maybe it's because kids, especially young kids, don't worry if something is cool or if they look dumb.  The lighter games tend to hold my attention longer than heavy subject matter and violence, my job is stressful enough (Excite Truck... did someone say Excite Truck? Yeah! Hell Yeah!).  But that doesn't mean I don't play those games at all... I am getting Metroid Prime 3 day one; Warhawk, Heavenly Sword and Haze are very likely too.

Kid Games? Family Games? I like to think of them more as family games, I enjoy those games and children are not welcome in my house... Some have greasy hands, I don't want them ruining the shine on my PS3.  Being pretty is all my PS3 is good for right now.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
