It will be interesting to see how the market reacts to the ecconomic downturn ... People will be cutting back on most large purchases (cars and whatnot) which will free up a lot of extra money for them which they may or may not spend on smaller purchases.
I wouldn't (necessarily) look at sales on a week-to-week basis right now because we're heading into the Christmas shopping season and the real question will be how this quarter compares to the same quarter from the past several years.
