| leo-j said: I agree with Oraichu, I think the people buying the wii are mainly GC owners, that means a max out of 30 million sold????? Not really, but this is possible, I do think that most xbox 360/ps2 owners will convert to ps3, if and when ps3 releases HUGE games that make's 360 lineup look like crud(IF keyword). |
It took 5 years for the Gamecube to sell 22 Million systems with the vast majority of those systems sold below $150 ... Most of the people who bought the Gamecube would not consider buying the Wii at its current "High" price
The fact of the matter is the Wii is being bought mostly by people who owned a Gamecube, XBox or PS2; the Wii will pass 30 Million by this time next year and will continue to sell at above Gamecube levels for the rest of the generation (probably pretty close to PS2 levels).
Back to the original point, I'm not sure whether the Wii is truely like the Playstation as much as the PS3 is really like a cross between the Neo Geo and Sega Saturn.
