I have a DS3 and original SIXAXIS from launch, both work fine, the sticks are still good and the R and L buttons are still pretty tight, perhaps if you took it a little easier on the controllers, I'm sure you'd have the same problem with any other game controller.
Whether you want to admit it or not those controllers are pretty tough, so you must be unusually harsh with them to have them break.
