@ twestern - did you even play heavenly sword? not only was there lots of fun good action there was a really good story behind it. told excellently if i might add. ive played this game over 3 times now and i cant get enough of it. a 2nd does not seem out of the question. but if they do make a 2nd it probably wont be till atleast 2010

He played the demo. He didn't play the actual game.

The demo in many ways leave one unimpressed.. especially with the length.. but i'm glad that didn't scare me off... the actual game is a gazillion times better.

My problems with the demo

  • Quick time events
  • The quick time event in the demo was the worst one I've ever experienced
  • The game played itself (see the video in Konni's post).  I know there's a deep combat system blah blah blah, but there's no point when I can just mash two buttons and get the same result.
  • I'm already just not a huge God of War fan and this game was just a bad knockoff.
  • Then of course I'm not going to pay more than $30 for a game that's 4-6 hours long (nothing to do with the demo but on principle).

The same can be said of Ninja Gaiden. You can get through the demo just mashing whatever and beat it alright. However in later chapters (the boss where you face two tanks) you have to learn how to play the game perfectly.

WHile HS isn't as hard, as you go along, you can't mjust mash. You have to do combos, style kills (whatever they're called), etc.
