I still can't believe that Powell endorsed Obama. I hope some more Republicans do, it would be a good move for sever contested house seats but I think it would also be good for the country to have a land slide, with a good amount of bipartisan support.

He cited several reasons for why he did it, but namely McCain's choice of Palin, his unstable behavior during the financial crisis and the campaign's narrow focus on a washed-up terrorist. Powell is so full of win.

I think it will carry a lot of weight - especially in veteran filled states like Fla., N.C. and Va.

If you haven't watched Meet the Press yet, watch it. He's on for 30 minutes and it is awesome. Makes me wonder why he didn't run for pres.

OMG madskillz, your avatar is so hot!

Seriously, Powell's endorsement seems like at least a little atonement for his performance in front of the U.N. I've always liked the man and was proud to serve under him. I was very dissapointed with his tenure as Secretary of State. Whether his candidate wins or loses I've gained back quite a bit of respect for him. I especially liked his complete and utter disavowal of the "Arab = Terrorist" talking point that has so much traction these days.

+1. I really thought he was duped into doing the UN speech. After he dies, I bet a letter will be released detailing all of that.
