| endimion said: yeah PS3 has strongest stand alone titles but on the other hand 360 has a pretty huge B+ line up to balance (i'm simplifying, it's basically on one side you have 3 really good heavy weights and on the other a large number of good light weights).... well I'm tough on PS 3 because the market is tough on them right now.... and no you can't predict the future for sure but you can do an accurate/precise estimation by statistical analyzis and anticipation of market behavior... they do that everyday on TV with the meteo and the NYSE.... and I do that for my job... I'm not saying my guess is right because VG is not my main field of expertise and i'm not documented enough to be with a level of accuracy higher than 65% (which is not that bad, considering that the web is almost my only source of info, which is a really poor resource of FREE information for that kind of job)... but I wanted to say that with the right survey and studies in hand plus the right detailed figures (VGchartz X 100 in term of detail of the market WW) and the right knowledge of the market (yeah don't ask meteorologist to do the analysis lol)you can get at about 80% to 90% level of accuracy for 2008/2009 results.... so you can say that the future is somehow predictable with the right thing in hand and in head lol :) |
Hahaha i compeletely agree =)
I like your multiple lightweights vs a few heavy weights statement it sounds right =)
and yes it can be accurate, if and only if you have the right info
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B
