Will PS3 eventually pass 360?

For me this is obvious ,even if the 360 could retain the lead in NA and keep the PS3 at the current diference between userbases ,even if it could manage to grow that gap ,the fact is that the increase of sales of the PS3 in Europe and Japan ,an increase MS cant hope to achieve ,will more than make up for that .PS3 is outselling the 360 right now ,the christmas will add some 3-4 millions PS3 between NA/Japan and Europe while the 360 could afford maybe 1.5 or 2 between NA and its few foreign sales .And in 2008 when Sony can effectively cut the price of its machine further than the 500 dollar/euros ,when games as MGSIV ,FFFXIII ,Killzone 2 etc are finally released ,then we will see the PS3 catching pace must faster .

Making predictions about how much time the PS3 would spend catching up at the current sales levels isnt accurate .The PS3 has a lot of room for improvement everywhere ,in North America ,in Japan and in Europe .The 360 just cant compete by just being relatively strong in 1 market .PS3 can sell in North America ,it just depends on price and games ,but the 360 cant do the same in Europe and Japan .Most of the 360 best games will be playable on PC ,the same doesnt apply with the PS3 .Those are some reasons why PS3 surpassing the 360 worlwide isnt a question of if but of when .

If everything comes along well for Sony it could equal the 360 worlwide by July 2008 .If they market well the machine ,keep a 499 SKU out there ,drop the price in Japan and Europe for christmas too ,receive MGSIV and GTAIV in time next year ,Home being successful ,Singstar attracting the current fans to the new console (8 million fans of the franchise ),BR dominating HD-DVD  etc etc .If Halo 3 sells a lot of hardware and the 360 does improve its performance the catch up of Sony can be postponed to end of 2008 maybe ,but I have little doubts that 2009 will see Sony ahead of MS worlwide .
