A few thoughts.
One -- Matt has confused Definition 3 of game -- a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators -- with Definition 1 of game -- an amusement or pastime: children's games. (Definitions from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/game)
Basically since you can't score and can't win, he does not like it. Since it does not have hard rock or edgy indie music, he does not like it. It is tough to comment on some of the other claims, such as music MIDI quality, but they did not seem that bad in the Nintendo videos.
Two -- MTV has a very different take on that. From the multiplayer blog, Stephen Totilo: It’s very different from anything else I’ve ever played. (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/author/stephentotilo/)
Or Patrick Klepek rating it the No. 3 Nintendo Fall Summit Game -- which also made it his top Wii retail game (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/10/06/my-nintendo-games-wii-music/)
I plan on getting it. I will sell multiple millions. And those who want a remake of a 20-plus year old franchise will have to realize that sometimes people want to try to do unique and different IPs.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
