They wont be afraid like people were 8 years before to research and buy the ps3 as an HD player. I also think 1080p will be standard by then, and this rapid ascension to better graphics every year will slow down. That means blu-ray discs with be adequate for years and years to come so sony wont ahve to change SKU's. Everyone has to admit that the cell processor has atleast 8 years in it.

 But as long as PS3 isn't market as a blu-ray player first people will by the cheaper standalone player. Simply as that.
