It's slightly lower than usual (compared to opening) for the previous Pokemon titles that have sold roughly the same, but not a lot. The 3rd wheel has always had worse legs than the originals (compared to total sales of course).

But you need to admit the low hardware help the decline

 

Yeah, indeed. But it's more normal than I thought at first.

Pokemon is the kind of game that starts out awesomely.

1M first week.

Then after ~ 3 months it is down to 10K (ish), and then it just keep selling that for a few years.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is going to have roughly 75% of its sales within the first 10 weeks (in Japan).

Therefore, I doubt Platinum has more than tops 1M more sales left in it.
