Believe me, everything everyone said about it was true. Notice the "was." It's still got problems (for example, it crashes about 10% of the time when I try to put in sleep or hibernate; it was like 90% when I first got it though) and it also likes to crash at intermittent times just completely randomly. (it does this probably 4-5 times/month now, it did it like once a DAY a first) but it's not even close to as bad as it was at the start.

Also, what Zen said is very true. the HW detection is unbelievable, the UI is awesome and looks verry cool, a dynamic search feature (ie. when you type letters it searches for them as you type more) is built directly into the start menu, the annoying "pop-out menu" thingy for the "all programs" is gone and replaced by a slick and easy-to-use integrated "tree view" menu right in the start menu. (no more hovering out over 7 levels of folders and then accidentally clicking off it and have to hover out again), and the Windows explorer program is much more intuitive and standardized across folder viewers and control panel options.

All in all, it's not a BAD os. But, whenever I open the task manager with the computer idle and see "Physical memory: 1219/1983 MB available", I just think: "what the HELL?!"

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
