If you look on the MS website, it does not have the free 512MB memory card offer.
It states on the site that an HDD "IS" required for the new XBox experience.
You must have a valid Core/Arcade Unit and pay $29.99 for a reburbished 20GB HDD + 3 Months Gold Live.
