Perhaps because MP3 is considered a 'hardcore' title, Nintendo assumes that those who are really interested in it will obsessively track down every detail they can from gaming sites. I know I am. ;)
The article has a point though. Wii controls have more FPS potential than other consoles have. If Nintendo could establish early on that they're the premium console for shooters, they could earn a good slice of the gaming market which is mostly interested in gunning down aliens and zombies. Which is a pretty big market, just look at all the PS3/360 shooters coming out. Growing the market to more casual gamers is great, but there's no reason they should have to sacrifice the shooter market.
