Why are we talking about about PC gaming? The thread talks about a simple fact: the console market now is bigger thanks to the Wii. I didn't own a console last generation, now I do. And also my interest in videogames is renewed. Is true, i've never stopped playing, but mostly on the PC, which is also used for a lot of other things. Buying a machine ONLY to play games is something a lot of people didn't do in the past. This so-called casuals, once they are hooked, they will stay for good. And that is thanks to Nintendo. Just like the movies, we will have tons of different games, most of them will be crap, but since people love going to the movies, the industry keeps producing, and once in a while we have something good. Exactly with videogames. Only that thanks to the Wii, this entertainment business is not some thing nerds do. Its out there, everbody can enjoy it and since it is profitable will last. Now, thanks to the Wii, another crash it's less likely. Imagine that all the movies, everyone of them, were directed by Woody Allen. I mean, I love his movies but I understand that most of the people don't. So thanks god there's Steven Spielberg and producers of blockbusters, that makes posible this massive entertainment profitable and posible. Same is happening now with videogames. Thanks god there´s the Wii.
PD: I wish I had money to buy all the consoles, I'm not a Fanboy.
