I think someone hasn't been paying much attention. In most RPGs there are tons of different motives. They don't always write it or say it.

 

 Well, duh! I'm not saying this is the case for most games, but a few games just seem like that's the only reason, and I really dislike that. I haven't checked a lot on this game, but it seems far less promising now than at any time before.
