Dude, sorry to tell you but Deep Ellum is pretty much dead at the moment (they even got rid of the tunnel ;_;). There are a few clubs there but they're all around lame and the bars are closing. Luckily, Deep Ellum is kind of cyclical in that it goes through bad periods like it's in now, land value gets stupid low, businesses come in because of the cheap real estate, more businesses come trying to upscale the place, Deep Ellum turns awesome and high society, land value raises really high, crime comes in, land value decreases, busniess leave, crime gets worse, repeat. I wouldn't expect Deep Ellum to be good again for another 2-ish years (though I'm near there every sunday).
If you're looking for a place to go with all the bars go to Lower Greeville. It's pretty stupid crowded but good if you're into that kind of thing. The only bars you find in Deep Ellum are those hole in the wall places (which are fun if you like that kind of thing).
