If developers decide there is much less time and more profit to put their main games on the Wii, they will. Thinking there is "no going back" is just delusional. Companies have done that before, and reducing graphics is not going to magically trump the money factor.
That's still an if, but it's not impossible.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
