Congrats Ninty (And Iwata!) - everyone doubted the DS, and its changed the world. Then everyone doubted the Wii - and its doing the same thing over again.

I don't think so, Nintendo dominated the handheld console market for over a decade! Personally I didn't like the original DS design, but I bought one for me and one for my girlfriend as soon as the Lite version was released.

Also personally I thought the Nintendo Wii would become a much bigger success as the Nintendo GameCube was. However I also stated that in due time I thought the PS3 may very well end up on top.

Sure, agreed. But when I say everyone - I don't mean Ninty fans ;) Anyone who bought a GC & 20 games (like myself) should be excluded.

The DS has completely changed the face of game development - and has dominated the last 3 (4?) years. Remember the initial media reaction, comments from Sony (etc..), "fad", PSP will dominate, etc.

The reason the Wii is doing a lot better than the DS did initially, is that people now have faith in Ninty again - after the DS, anything they design turns to gold.
