Ok I have to ask, why would it be illegal for them to use a wiimote in their game? I can't really see anyone adding support for it in a game because it's doubtful a lot of people would go out to buy a wiimote when they already own existing input devices (keyboard/mouse for PC and 360 controller for 360).
As for the libraries using it as a glorified analog stick that's not the case, just look at the WiimoteState object that returns *everything* about the Wiimote.
Some people may think it's a waste of time or ask why people bother but projects like this can be extremely fun, interesting, and rewarding
