EQ2's subscriber base was at 250k at the last count. Nothing compared to WoW but EQ2 has much more content. Whats WoW on its second expansion? EQ2 has number five coming out next month and that isn't including the adventure packs or the free contents and dungeons that SOE periodically adds. They just added a new instance, Veksar, and added 50 new quests to Everfrost, one of the games original zones over the past two weeks.

And EVE is one of the deepest game, and most complex games on the market, with an truly MASSIVE environment?  The point is this, WoW is massive in more than the technical sense, but it's massive in it's appeal, and hte ability for someone new to the genre to get involved and not feel clueless.  I think Blizzard understands the need to get more ongoing content into the game, and starting with WOTLK, WoW is going to re-define itself..

I don't want to get into a WoW versus EQ2 debate. I will simply speak for myself when I say that WoW is simply too dumbed down and simplistic for me to enjoy. I can see the appeal for someone that hasn't had any experience in the genre but other wise for me it is an average game with low requirements that allow it to run on practically any PC.
