Japanese stockmarket as a whole has went down. Just because the stock price goes down, doesn't mean the company is doing worse. Nintendo will still make huge profits, but as the general trend of Sony and Nintendo going down, is because USD dropping down. Nintendo and Sony are both companies that lives largely from exporting and trading in dollars.

 

It's usually expected, that when economy goes down, people spend less money on entertainment.
