I'm not trolling, but I don't see what is so fun about this game?
The concept is brilliant and the potential for incredible and creative levels is astounding, but the actual platforming looks kinda loose and slow. As a creation tool it looks phenomenal, but as a game it appears to be lacking. I've never played, and will thus hold off on any sort of judgment, but it doesn't seem to be that engaging a game.

Well, I'd say since you haven't played the game your skepticisms are somewhat true but you're looking at it the wrong way. You first need to realize that game doesn't have mario or megaman style platforming so 1:1 classic level remakes are destined to be failures from a gameplay standpoint. Levels must be created with the game's strengths in mind and the best level creators in the beta have already realized this with some impressive levels to show for it. Media Molecule has done a great job of making the platforming elements work with the physics based engine. To see this one needs to look no further than MM's own levels which work with the game's strengths rather than trying to make it something it's not. So while the platforming is indeed "floaty" (which, by the way, is not a synonym for bad) it's just as fun as "tight" platforming.
